May 27, 2010More from Sitges, ESP …
April 8, 2010The 2010 edition of the D.O. World DanceSport is history … More than 1,000 couples competed over the four days in Sitges, ESP, a coastal resort 50 km south of Barcelona. The IDSF World Senior II DanceSport Championships Latin and Standard alone registered a participation of 76 and 219 couples, respectively, from 27 countries.
The other highlights were three IPDSC Professional World DanceSport Championships: two in Showdance (South American and Classic) and one in Latin. Together with the premier events for Senior II during D.O. World DanceSport, they were recorded for airing by television channels in Spain and abroad.
In two weeks’ time IDSF will be able to put a combined 200 minutes of streaming video on the Professional and Senior II World Championships online. Stay tuned: new YouTube and a live streaming channel will be rolled out by IDSF soon.
For the time being, we refer you to a third-part recording of the IPDSC World Latin solo final Cha Cha Cha by Stefano di Filippo and Olga Urumova, ITA. Credit for the filming goes to “Alvaro el Bailarin” and his channel http://www.youtube.com/alvaroycaro

Look at it and you agree! Here are some great aerial shots of the neighbourhood taken by the daring Catalan aviator Santi Font:
